For us, designing is a spiritual journey. One in which energies of the universe and the spirits of the elements are as much a part of what we work with as wood, stone, metal and greenery. With a cumulative experience of 16 years in architecture and interior architecture, our founders, Snehal Suthar and Bhadri Suthar, have set a mandate for contextual design, something that is timeless and not stylish. Therefore, our designs are founded in simplicity and clarity, and create structures that are closely connected to the earth. While we strive towards compelling and dynamic spaces, we do so by combining clarity with quiet and thoughtful innovation; we endeavour to achieve the delicate balance of order and invention followed by integrity in work.

While our work may straddle a variety of scales and typologies — corporate houses, residential communities, commercial complexes, educational institutes, hospitality spaces and private villas — it is unified by the common thread of sustainability. This respect for the environment informs and influences how we work, and what we work with — which is perhaps why we are recognized, and have received several awards, for energy-saving, sustainable work. Our architecture and interiors are mindful of international standards of designs, including those for the physically-challenged.

Our approach and work processes are inclusive: we believe in working with the client, rather than for the client. Central to our thoughts and discussions, is constantly the idea of saving time, effort, expense for the client, giving them a seamless and smooth project experience.

While the practice, which is empanelled with several government organisation, believes in keeping abreast of technological and material updates, it equally recognises the importance of research and development, both of which are undertaken in-house. Our need to give back to the architectural community is evidenced in the principals’ engagement with academia and fraternity activities: both our founders are visiting faculty at prestigious institutes such as NID and NIFT, and have also participated as jury for architectural colleges and fraternity awards.

Recognition and awards
The Grid Architects’ work for Sangath Posh and Sangath Terraces has received a Platinum rating and Gold rating from IGBC, respectively. The firm’s endeavour for compelling and dynamic spaces has been validated by the recognition garnered by their work — lately the Trends Excellence 2017 Award for Terracotta Restaurant and, earlier, the GHIED Award for Best Residential Building for Sangath Posh. Our projects have been published in several reputed magazines like TRENDS, BETTER INTERIORS, INDIAN ARCHITECTS AND BUILDERS.

We aspire to make architecture that is timeless. We strive to create designs founded in simplicity and clarity.
We also design buildings- architecture and interior keeping in mind the international standards of designs for physically impaired……known as Barrier free spaces and Green and sustainable buildings and spaces.
