About Salman Jawed

I was always interested in design and architecture, which lead me to pursue a career in Architecture but I think it was after my first freelance project that I knew I wanted to do this for sure. I was still doing my undergrad at IVS and I got an opportunity to work on an interesting project where I got to build an idea for real.
The biggest challenge in the construction industry was the lack of standards and too much unprofessionalism. There are too many people trying everything and not specializing in any one thing in particular. We had to train our own people especially for product design as there wasn’t really a concept towards it. As architects we need to work with specialized teams in order to get the best result and I think that is slowly improving.
I think there are a lot of things I have learnt during the years but the most important thing would be team work and dedication. I think our job requires us to work together, so finding the right people and believing in your ideas is very important.
