Our Architecture emerges from the idea that a building should be Expressive and reflect contemporary life. As a firm, it is our belief that the art of architecture lies in creating a maximum impact within the constraints of Budgets and Functionality.

The Courtyard House is located in Bahria Springs, Islamabad. The plot’s contours are treated and incorporated while designing the house. Pool being the heart of the residence is placed artistically in the center. The porch is accentuated by incorporating a large cantilevered slab facilitating shade for four cars. Throughout, the exterior walls are treated beautifully with a blend of concrete split blocks, wood texture tiles and rock wall coating. The client desired an environmental friendly family house with a semi covered heated pool and use of large windows giving a very sleek and modern look of both. interior as well as exterior.

The elegant entrance and the stairwell lures back attention on the ground floor distributing the private, semi-private and public zones apart in its own unique way. The owners and the visitors can enjoy the luxury of their respective zones without interfering with each other. The dining room, drawing room and kitchen are allocated separately for visitors giving them a beautiful view of the pool activity zone. Two rooms on ground floor and three rooms on the first floor, all receive a view of the serene pool and a hexagonal bedroom with large windows, providing view of the lawn from all sides.

Therefore, Qadri associates designed the Pool House by accommodating the client’s style of living by considering all of their family requirements with a blend of luxurious life style. For connectivity to the outside, there are two courtyard/veranda overhanging on either side of the lounges. This spatial layering helps to create a heat buffer and much needed shade in the summer. High ceiling heights and thick exterior cavity walls, derived from past construction techniques also create a more stable and controlled climate inside. Opportunities for social interaction or even quiet reflection exist in this house. The courtyards have a meditative and timeless quality to them, but also can become lively in larger social gatherings.
