The process of this private residence started with the study of the natural orientation as per the wind and sun path of the allotted site. The concept evolves around the creation of serene and experiential spaces for the inhabitants while maintaining their privacy. The play of levels within the landscape provides easy and pragmatic access to interior spaces while the play of masses compliments and provides potential spaces to form dense foliage. The interior design brief for this naturally lit house was derived using a basic pastel palette in walls, furniture and hosiery that blends into the contained yet open spaces. The interior spaces are oriented in such a way that they blend into the outdoor lush green space. The permanent finish of smoke colored terrazzo keeps the building mass floating over the landscape. The industrial mesh screen on the façade along with creating diverse shadows provides privacy to the side terrace. The low heighted boundary wall in the secured neighborhood lets the house stand out in its vicinity.
