The double height space of the site immediately caught our eye. Since most chinese restaurants have very typical interiors we had to create a counter narrative. The slabs of marble, the brass strips & the full height glass serve as visual aids to draw attention towards the shop.
At night the lighting makes the shop glow with a warmth that has a similar effect.
The flooring was kept subdued so as to not distract the user, we felt too many elements would overwhelm the space. Your eye is drawn to the live kitchen, & then moves to the large mural we created inspired by Chinese prints.
The marble tables, wooden columns and mirrored walls along with the lighting all helped bring the space together.
