IRM office building is designed as a low cost environmentally sensitive work space first of its kind in this region, derived from traditional Mediterranean architecture techniques and contemporary lines. The design creates a series of multi-functional spaces which blend the indoors with the outdoors seamlessly. Many elements of this thermally adaptive environment borrow from the tradition of passive cooling techniques.
The building will be split to achieve the ideal orientation and spaces for extreme climate conditions.
Building masses and spaces have been created in a way to achieve wind circulation inside the building for a healthier working environment.
The building has been kept elevated to reduce the occasional incoming of stormwater from the nearby stream on the south side.
The three steps mentioned above also result in a well-lit, cross-ventilated and shaded community space in the lower ground floor of the building.
Sustainable architecture is a general team that describes environmentally conscious design techniques in the field of architecture. Sustainable architecture is framed by the larger discussion of sustainability and the pressing economic and political issues of our world.
The idea of sustainability, or ecological design, is to ensure that our actions and decisions today do not inhibit the opportunities of future generations.
The term can be used to describe an energy and ecologically conscious approach to the design of the built environment.
Sustainable development and sustainability are integral to green building. Effective green building can lead to reduced operating costs by increasing productivity and using less energy and water. It can improve public and occupant health by improving indoor air quality. It also reduces environmental impacts through its use of sustainable resources.
