Naadia & Mubasher Residence by Architect Fawad Suhail Abbasi, Islamabad By Suhail & Fawad Architects

Overview

The house stems from a cubist, modernist philosophy keeping a check on our strong history, traditions, culture and natural materials that define mostly all the work that comes out of Suhail & Fawad Architects.

The interweaving of this two family unit was achieved by layering the requirements of each side but making sure that it appears as one. The box was then broken, carved and subtracted to ensure that each space opens towards a view, a green patch, a patio, a water feature or a courtyard. The firm believes in celebrating each corner of the building, visualizing the interior and the exterior as one. They need to compliment each other.

The idea was to study the context and the needs of the end user, the connections, the flow of how each space responds to the other, how one can bring nature inside or create personalized green spaces, well lit, ventilated and energy efficient.


This Residence is all of that and an outcome of continuous interactions with the clients, Naadia and Mubasher who became close friends by the end of it. Our projects are built on these relationships and we take pride in it.
