The 300-Bed Hospital rests at the foot hills of Margalla Hills overlooking the view of F9 Park.
Co relating the efficiency of the Hospital functioning with the trapezoid shape of site, the building mass was split in two offset volumes. The front elevation facade evolves from the angular Rock formation inspired from the Hills themselves, splitting open a crevice creating depth for the external landscaped court in between, which provides Natural Light to the Hospital Interior.
The multilevel Court Fountain not only acts a light well for the Basement Level, but comprises of a Sculpturesque water fountain as well which spills water down to the basement level. The Crevice further widens on the top half of the building increasing the building divide, resulting in the creation of terraces for the two halves each.
The reception area inside overlooks the fountain court in front via a double heighted atrium curving parallel to the curvilinear glass curtain wall, enlightening the main circulation area behind.
The Building aims to build a bridge between Form, Ambience and Functionality, which makes it an all-round design in spite of the complex Program requirement and the contrasting Materials of traditional Brick gutka along with Modern Aluminium Grooved cladding adds to the versatility of the project.
Complimenting its prime location, the 9-storey (7+2) Building aims to create a Progressive and Iconic statement for the Pakistan Air Force and the city of Islamabad.
