This recent corporate interior design for Reon Energy by Suhail & Fawad Architects is based on a self-created central courtyard plan which opens every space primarily into it. It expresses a philosophy of the firm celebrating our local culture, traditions, technology and natural environment which is important in all commissions designed by the studio. The use of materials is always simple, customized, self-crafted and energy efficiency the core of all interior spaces.
The design was also important because this office was being designed in One Expressway, a building designed by Suhail & Fawad Architects and is one of the first face-face concrete& brick buildings in the area and stands on the corner of the entrance to Gulberg Green on main Islamabad Expressway.
The interior was conceptualized with an industrial theme with an introverted water garden, drop ceilings and frames in metal, corporate colours, signage, raw ceilings with hanging lights complimenting it with fare face concrete. The idea is to use materials that are exposed and used in a way that they become part of the new corporate ID.
The ambient & spatial quality of the interiors is also determined not by any specific properties, but by the position of the spaces to which they are subject in the work, of which they are a part. This principle, as an expression balanced, ordered & unified, enables the architecture to take its form. This corporate office space is a good example of how the team puts together interior design, graphics, branding and signage within the ambit of architecture which brings together a number of professionals on one page. This results in a project that a client is satisfied with and opens new avenues for more projects for the studio.
The central square courtyard framed by a metal mesh steel structure is the focal point and an extension of the connecting corridors maximizes daylight and frames each space indirectly and directly into it. This interior project is derived from its regional context, environments, experiences, aesthetic & day to day social functions which are strong elements of the firm's work may they be architecture or interior design.
For the team, love for natural material is manifest with emphasis on furniture, branding & signage, artificial lighting to bring colour into various spaces. Predominantly grey with a splash of their corporate tones.
