Originally built years ago, the internal spaces at the front of the house had become dark and uninviting due to a lack of natural light and the material palette used. A linear block was designed and added to the existing structure to resolve these issues while still maintaining the design language of the architecture.
.
Through the use of strategically placed skylights and large open windows, sunlight is brought into the house which dramatically opens up the space and provides the residents extra room for hosting and entertainment as well as taking advantage of views to the vast front lawns. Elements and materials such as the brick jaali, the hand painted teal tiles and the brick feature wall are all representative of the emphasis on traditional craftwork executed using carefully considered modern design solutions.
