Overview

This house was designed and built between 2010-2012. This was the time when residential properties were conveniently used for commercial purposes, and you would find all sorts, of shops, restaurants, even embassies and government offices in residential properties.
Our client wanted to develop this property for rental purposes. The plots location on a main road (School Road, F6/1) meant a diverse range of clientele for him. Hence we developed the plan with maximum flexibility in mind. Its vast open plan interiors could be utilized for varied functions. The services were designed for flexibility and addition if need be.
With changing laws in Islamabad, which barred commercial use within residential areas, some of the open areas were easily converted into bedrooms etc. making the property appropriate for residential use. Moreover the wooden screens were added to create privacy and envelop appropriate for a residence.
