Designed in collaboration with Studio Subtractive, the Unilever, Pakistan HQ reception acts as a portal, an interim space occurring between the office and the outside world, bringing these spaces together, while also delineating their boundaries. The environment created in this space becomes a prelude to what is expected within the office, visually as well as conceptually.
This humane design is conceived for people; it facilitates interaction, allows freedom of movement, and promotes well being through a strong connection with nature. Upon entering, the user is greeted with subtle hues of warm whites and sweeping gestures that gently direct them towards the core. Nestled deep into the space is a discreet reception desk and waiting area. The organic and undulating forms sculpted in metal are contrasted with more linear and organised spatial arrangements that carve out the storefront cafe.
