Alex de Rouvray Design takes charge of all of the phases in the design process, from early creative research and trend analysis, to ergonomic evaluation, engineering and production sourcing.

AN ITERATIVE DESIGN PROCESS

Our design approach is based on a four step iterative design process:
1. Analysis: the creation of a comprehensive design brief begins with an analysis of all of the key elements in a project: understanding the underlying human need, exploring trends in form and materials, etc.
2. Creative Research: once the design problem is clearly defined, brainstorming sessions and creative research generate several creative directions.
3. Prototyping: each creative direction is materialized via a prototype, that can be crude or elaborate, 2D or 3D, ranging from foam and cardboard models to stereolithographies.
4. Test: the prototype allows the design team to confront its creative concepts with reality and its constraints. Through user testing, the pros and cons of each design direction are exposed. Iteration: the conclusions drawn from the Test phase are used to re-adjust the initial design brief and begin a new design cycle, coming up with new creative design directions. This process allows the design team to systematically converge towards a viable design solution.
