Apulia originates from an idea by Vitantonio Coletta who spent his childhood summers on the family business site, a carpentry shop founded by his grandfather in 1971. Wood research is the passion Vitantonio followed in his studies which later on became his work. Another great passion is his land, Apulia, a fascinating region, full of contradictions, culture and craftsmanship. An Italian region that inspires, makes you dream and, sometimes puts you to the test. The concept slowly came into being, initially with the help of Franco, creative carpenter and childhood friend of Vitantonio’s grandfather, who started the making of the first prototypes. Later on Vito, another carpenter as well as one of Vitoantonio’s old time friends, joined the team. Following, a chance encounter with Saverio, a creative and over the top architecture student, who immediately embraced the project. Thus, a laborious collaboration was born, in which passion and ambition become the main reward. The team spends days on end working, experimenting, creating what has now become the dream of all: Puglia experienced by those who don’t live Puglia. Also, thanks to the precious collaboration of several designers, it was finally possible to realize elements inspired by country and medieval architecture, as well as ancient tools that our ancestors used daily, tools nowadays unknown to most people. By using mainly limestone and oak wood and evoking ancient artisan work such as the intertwining of olive branches, papier-mâché and rope work, Apulia represents, through creativity and innovation, its territorial identity.
Apulia, is the dream of young men in search of redemption, the image of a land that will remain indelible.
