Uk and Associates is a Faisalabad based firm, working for last five years. It is based on the fact that architects today have to be somewhat more than designers. In order to meet the challenges of the rapidly changing and competitive market, architectural firms should be fully conversant with market strategies and economics, prevailing design trends, technology and project management. Main aim of our firm is to strive always to set new standards of design practice with immaculate detailing and accuracy in our work. CEO/Principal Architect Uzma Khan is a graduate from UET with a vast experience of working with reputable firms as well as carrying on her personal projects. As an architect she believes that her projects are concept and origin based. An architect should play with his design tools but within the cultural and local environmental constraints. As an architect her design philosophy is more inclined towards traditional and cultural based design and detailing. “Beauty already exists out there as an objective reality an architect can only aspire to reflect in his work” We believe that Architecture is an outcome of series of thoughts starting from the client’s basic brief and ending towards the finest workable solution put forth by the architect. The whole process involves a high level of intricacy and focus on economical and environmental factors, space utilization, aesthetics, comfort levels and a delicate blend of contemporary and traditional features. As a designer we should take fresh fix outs on questions regarding effects of globalization, modernization and development. Our belief is that in traditional and regional responses to these questions we have an alternative development paradigm, an ideological frame work, a guide to action which is as valid and relevant today as it has been for all the past millennia.
