This amazing residence is located in the Lahore suburbs of BEDIAN.

Designed as weekend home to relax and entertain themselves, the house follows a minimalist approach.

The house is designed around a serene infinity pool with covered and semi covered area around it which can be enjoyed at various time.

The house is designed keeping the green building principles in mind with passive solutions and local and using local materials. It has a simple straight line aesthetics which greatly blends with the ambiance.

A design is successful if it provides pleasing aesthetics and a comfortable environment.

A challenging and very interesting brief, combining two adjacent plots and to design a low-rise apartment building, with 6 identical apartments. The site, in heart of Lahore, Gulberg 2, is surrounded by old Art Deco houses, majority of them almost half a century old. The challenge was to accommodate these single, double and triple bedroom apartments in a very limited space.Being a north facing façade, the site gave us the opportunity to play with big open windows in the front and since the amalgamation of two consecutive plots, a wide front, which in return helped us in spacing out the internal rooms and spaces around the edge of the plot.

DHA Central Library is one of the prime institutions of Defence Housing Authority Karachi. It was established on 3rd November 1991. DCL has a beautifully designed and artistically decorated building with lush green lawns, fountains and rockeries all around it. Like any modern library, DCL has a computerized book inventory, modern and speedy Internet facilities, exclusive newspapers & periodicals section, access to digital library of HEC, state-of-art audio visual facilities and a unique Children’s Library fully equipped with modern facilities.

This was a particularly challenging project because it was a bifurcated plot and the by laws left us with a very tight footprint.
However, the client was very supportive and appreciating. We were given a lot of freedom in the design and were therefore able to experiment with innovative ideas, in planning as well as in detailing.
The house has a very linear and open plan. It is also very transparent.

Architecture curated with brick dates to some 10,000 years. Maestros of Pakistan too have created sheer art, with brick as their medium, in form of buildings. Deriving their designs from the traditional architectural philosophy of the subcontinent to culminating styles and forms; Pakistani Architects have produced some timeless architecture. Conceived as an inclusive public and event space, IO functions in collaboration with its sister space “café sol”. It provides opportunity for community building and promotion of arts and culture. While café sol has a very warm and cozy ambience, IO offers a contrasting experience with its dark, futuristic and cyberpunk interior with a hint of cosmos.
